To me it sounds like someone is at war with themselves and they have a bladed weaon. With this they are going to attack their enemy until they are dead. They will slash and cut unilt the enemy bleeds to death. Unfortunately, the enemy is themself. When they realize this, it is too late, they are already dead, and they have lost.
